TSHN - Mission

It always seems impossible until it is done.

What moves us

70 % of agricultural land in Europe is degraded, severely degraded or biologically depleted and the health of the population continues to decline.

The EU Commission and the EU Parliament have recognised the urgency of taking countermeasures and are promoting corresponding initiatives with conviction.
Nevertheless, you have to bear in mind that interests have to be balanced in order to achieve something.

Because:
  • What is politically desirable is often not healthy, realistic or efficient.
  • What sounds sensible in research cannot be realised one-to-one in many cases.
  • What is interesting for investment funds often pushes the matter itself into the background.
  • What the consumer wants is sometimes not affordable and
  • What the farmer needs and achieves is not recognised by most "stakeholders".

We are the link

We are the link between politics, research, ethics, business and the real challenges facing agriculture and people.

We are taking on the challenge of identifying and verifying the many positive contributions from organisations, governments and research institutions with regard to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and making them fruitful and usable for the general public.

The central role is played by agricultural and forestry land, which harbours unimaginably great possibilities that are only just beginning to be understood in terms of their significance and diversity.

Our conviction

We are convinced that democracy, a market economy, freedom of research and the rule of law are better placed than anything else to master the complex challenges of our time.

Combined with personal initiative, personal responsibility, humanistic
Ethics, transparency, general availability and tamper-proof information are the cornerstones of success in Europe and the western world.

Even if it currently seems as if these values no longer apply to the public, we at TSHN are looking to the future with courage, because we co-operate with like-minded people from the impact scene.

Independent viability

A key aspect is the long-term independent viability and anchoring of our concerns in society and the economy.

We are of the opinion that this will not work without entrepreneurial commitment with the support of the investor scene and public funding.

A market economy means valuing as much as possible and remunerating services, but also working efficiently and using resources carefully. It also requires effectiveness: the robustness of the organisation and the effectiveness of our actions are key concerns.

The most important goal

The most important goal for these tasks is to create a brand that everyone knows and trusts.

We are therefore working on an umbrella brand that will be the most valuable in the ecosystem services sector in Europe.

It will make it easier for us to communicate the regenerative cause and create high added value for our members and stakeholders.

Outlook

We know that this is not an easy task ahead of us. But together with a strong community, combined with intelligence, diligence, fairness and the support of the latest technologies, management theories and financing instruments, coupled with a high level of commitment, it is achievable.

In 10 years' time, the value of soil for health, climate stability and ecosystem services will be recognised by society and a new entrepreneurial economic system for agriculture will be normal.

Everyone will benefit from this.
